well,in truth,the blog had the title first.the track was originally called (cough) invisible cities... absolutely inspired by that wondrous calvino book.but it was only really a working title.when jon sko did his review
of the cindytalk gig in kobe 2005,the new title became obvious and at
around the same time this blog was christened too...
"christened",what a horrible word!!!see how we become with such upbringings...
Yes,the title was perfect for the track and still retains that
mysterious magic that makes "Invisible Cities" so very special.

When the track was added to this blog (without the post that mentions the upcoming releases), my first reaction was that Spaewaif accidently recorded something at home, liked the outcome and named it 'Of Ghosts...'
Of course I wasn't truly listening, but too busy with other stuff...

you might have to rephrase that question if you want an answer.i'm not quite sure what you are saying or asking...

I guess I meant to ask if a 'true' studio setting would've resulting in a different track. I AM a layman, so apologies if to you a studio equals spaewaif's home.
circumstances and surroundings will always have an impact but nowadays,with all the requisite tools in your computer it doesn't necessarily matter where you record.if you have a fully equipped studio with engineer at hand you can definately explore a lot more and the chances are the work will have more scope.the way i see it is that we work with what we have and make the best set of music we can with the tools and assistance at hand."the crackle of my soul" is a "solo" work made using voice,turntables,dj mixer,keyboard,field recordings and sampling tools... i didn't have speakers so i used headphones which is not necessarily the best way to make music but that in turn helped to create a microscopic quality to the sound.it's probably best heard on headphones too.i was trying to take the listener into a fragmented and decayed state of mind where sound has disintegrated into a series of signals and high pitched frequencies,where music as we know it still exists but merely flickers around the edges and we only catch glimpses.voices
exist but they too become signal communications,faint and lost inside the static...
